Fill Your Cup
Are your evenings crazy..? Do you live in a world of going nonstop… taking care of everyone else but yourself..? Dinner, bath time, cleaning, packing lunches and maybe evening a load of laundry or two. Heck, work sounds easier than this. Imagine the effects that this life has on your health..?
If this is you… how long can you continue at this pace..? Stop and take a moment to pause. Make yourself a warm drink, find a cozy place to sit (hide if you must)and just be for a moment. Life can be hectic and it is so easy to create the excuses that keep us moving. Often, our inner guilt is our biggest culprit that works against us here. You’ve heard the saying, “You cannot pour from an empty cup”.
What if there was someone by your side… giving you permission to focus on you- for one hour a week and a few minutes every evening..? Just imagine all health and wellness benefits that will come your way with some much needed alone time…
Carving out time to create a ritual or two might take practice. However, I can promise you that your soul will thank you in a variety of ways.
What if you could:
Improve your physical health (i.e. decrease blood pressure, lower blood sugar, improve diet and exercise).
Boost your emotional health and discover a mind-body balance.
Have more positive energy as you provide time and care to your spouse, partner, children or aging parents.
Finally sleep more than 3-4 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night (how glorious does this sound..?).
These results are all possible! The number one priority when seeking these results is creating a resilient mindset. Might this be a challenge…. that is a big fat YEP. Will you have moments of guilt and falter… Probably. If you are consistent, will it become easier to set aside time to focus on number one… Totally. And guess what… I am betting that your spouse, partner, parents or children would survive for a few minutes every evening. They may even be grateful and pleased that you are physically, mentally and emotionally healthy. Why? You will show up strong, resilient, positive and have improved energy to handle extra stressful events.
So take that bath, drink your warm beverage, read a chapter or just close your eyes to dream. I am here giving you permission… to fill your cup and then enjoy it.
